Another milestone has been reached in the effort to create the tools necessary for the practice of ancient Western astrology. I would like to tell you about Delphic Oracle , the first computer program designed to implement the techniques and procedures of Hellenistic astrology.
Over the past year or so, Curt Manwaring, owner of Zoidiasoft Technologies, has been working in close association with Project Hindsight to perfect his original computer software and take advantage of all the progress we have made here at Project Hindsight in restoring the original Hellenistic system. Delphic Oracle is now ready for general release.
No other software on the market even begins to address the needs and special requirements of practitioners of Hellenistic astrology. Delphic Oracle is the only program of its kind, and we at Project Hindsight stand fully behind it. And since we are committed to keeping Curt abreast of all the new discoveries and developments of our ongoing investigations into Hellenistic astrology here at Project Hindsight, it is extremely unlikely that there will ever be a program to rival it.
This is the program I have been dreaming of since I began translating and thinking about Hellenistic astrology way back in 1993. Although Curt is continually improving Delphic Oracle and adding new features, it already does justice to the complex and intricate Hellenistic astrological system. It is currently in version 4.
Yes, Delphic Oracle will calculate all your time-lords for you – believe me, you do not want to do this by hand! It also handles all the universal techniques designed to address the native's life as a whole, and address the various special topics in any person's life such as marriage, children, profession, etc. Delphic Oracle also neatly organizes all the data of the analysis of planetary condition. It contains Project Hindsight's definitive Hellenistic list of lots. And much more.
In the future Delphic Oracle will house proprietary delineation text from my own translations of Hellenistic texts. But equally important - if not more so - its interface reflects the structure of the Hellenistic system itself.
Curt's program was a big hit at our PHASE Conclave last August. 40% of the Conclave attendees bought Delphic Oracle. Those who saw his demonstration and purchased it on the spot realized that with the help of Delphic Oracle, another major obstacle to the actual practice of Hellenistic astrology has been overcome. I now wonder how those ancient guys managed at all.
Since Curt took up residence here at the “HindQuarters” a few months ago, recent progress has been nothing short of astonishing. Whenever we think of a new feature we would like to have in the program, it magically appears on Curt's program a few days later.
On a biographical note, Curt was a subscriber to Project Hindsight since 1994, and he recognized the need for the appropriate software during the second PHASE Conclave in 1995. He began to develop Delphic Oracle entirely on his own in January of 2003, with no help and very little outside encouragement. He saw a need for such software, and since no one else was developing it, he undertook this project himself.
I know nothing about computer programming, but I do know something about translating. I imagine it must be just as frustrating and lonely an undertaking. Such independent initiative and commitment as Curt has demonstrated is deserving of our support and gratitude.
Project Hindsight is pleased to act as the distributor for Delphic Oracle. From the commission we receive as his distributor when you purchase his program, you at the same time help finance Project Hindsight's research, which in turn feeds back into the program to make it even better.
Just think of it. A mere Jupiter cycle ago there was no such thing as “Hellenistic astrology” in the astrological community at all. But a number of astrologers with vision rallied around a fledgling Project Hindsight and through their support assisted in the rebirth of this ancient discipline. Now there are translations, scholarly studies, plans for monographs and courses. And finally we have that indispensable tool: the software to facilitate the practice of Hellenistic astrology.
